Weigh-In 12/19/12/Selling Walden Farms Products

Went to my weigh-in on Wednesday and lost 2 1/2 pounds bringing me to 142.5, just 7 pounds to Phase 2!  5 pounds more to loose in Phase 2 on top of that.
Also lost 1" in my waist!

My Walden Farms items came in this week, the BBQ sauce is sooo good, it tastes like the BBQ sauce on the shelf only that you are saving 200 calories, yahoo!  They also have new salad dressings, and I got 1 bottle of seafood sauce for the holiday knowing they are going to serve shrimp and I won't be able to have their cocktail sauce at least I can have mine and gain ZERO weight!!

Which brings me to another thing -
I love Walden Farms products so much that I am selling the items myself.on my home & garden online store, products will be on the site in 1 to 2 weeks.  Save 34 pounds a year by switching to just Walden Farms products.  Visit my store in the next week or so to buy them - www.ksfaveshg.com also be sure to like my store when you visit and visit my Facebook company page: Kelly's Home Accessories and "Like" my page!

Weigh-In 12/12/12

Getting down there, almost done with Phase 1, I really can't believe it.  This food has been my lifestyle for about 6 1/2 months and I am just floored it is almost over, I only hope I can handle Phase 2 of the diet which is still a mystery as to what it entails right now, since I'm not there yet.  But once I know I'll let you know.

So yesterday's weigh-in 1 1/2 pounds, still losing slowly due to that pie in November, should be back on track next week (here's hoping).  But even though the pound loss wasn't big I did loose inches in my waist and hips - not easy to do this towards the end, so was happy to hear that!

Just 9 pounds till my goal weight, however they will be bring me down to 130, 5 pounds below my goal (135) because 5 pounds comes back anyways once you come off.  So not too far from now and then it is all about maintain maintain maintain.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Walden Farms - Has more than just dressings we can use, they have tomato sauces, alfredo sauce, BBQ sauces, Syrups and more.  You don't have to be condiment deprived on this diet so: Be sure to check out their website and stock up.  http://www.waldenfarms.com/ or find the nearest store location to you.

Weigh-In 12/5/2012

I lost 2 1/2 pounds this week bringing me down to 146 with just 11 pounds to go, however they will be bringing me down to 130 because well you initially gain 4-5 pounds back in Phase 2 anyways so I have 16 pounds left really.  But I'm almost in Phase 2!
I also lost 1" off my waist this past week.

I've also been thinking about some foods out there, on what I'm going to be changing once I come off of Phase 1, I'm sure they will tell me but I have been researching and have pretty much come to the conclusion that I will be coming off of gluten for good (since this caused my anxiety issue in the first place).  I also am going to try and stay away from these foods having them only once every 3 to 4 months or when special occasions roll around -

No Soy
No Eggs
No Sugar (fruit is ok, but no artificial sugars especially fructose - the worst)
No Corn - this includes all corn byproducts if I can too.
No Peanuts - switching to Almond Butter if my dietitian says it is ok
No Gluten - which I'm staying away from anyways.
No Dairy - because honestly my stomach didn't feel too good when I ate it prior to this Ideal Protein diet.  Although I do love cheese but having it on special occasions is better than never.

Of course having it on special occasions is also a problem because it creates cravings, really bad ones too, that you just have to try and get through.  They can last from 3 to 7 days (depending on what you consumed) and when its over my body seems to be less stressed than it was when the cravings were going on.
During this time in the diet for about 6 months or so, I have certainly learned how to control said cravings, and am well disciplined in what I eat as well as choosing wisely, I only hope this will stick with me as I step in to Phases 3 and 4 and the rest of my life.

For now I'm just trying to reach Phase 2, so on to the next week!

Weigh-In 11/28/12 - New Business

Well I went into Thanksgiving to be good and yet I was taken over by the Pecan Pie, I ended up having 2 slices and whipped cream, yikes!  Not a planned cheat at all.  So because of this cheat I lost very little this week, but the good news is that I lost something.

I lost 1 pound and am now 149.4 pounds, in the 140's!!  Now that is an accomplishment.  Next week should be much better.

How did everyone else do during the holiday?  If you would like to share feel free to leave a comment if not, that is okay too.

I am selling clothes, transition pants and other used clothing for just $5, shipping would be separate and would be provided for by USPS through First Class for 14 ounces or less or Priority mail for over 14 ounces.  If this interests you visit the link to the right hand side that says: K's Faves, this is my clothing business.  Also selling Home and Garden if you are interested.  This will lead you to my Ebay store, more clothing items to come!

Weigh-In 11/21/12

Went for my weigh-in this morning and lost a whopping 4 1/2 pounds!!!  What a huge jump this week, now I'm at 150.4 pounds, with only 15.4 pounds left to go!  Unless I choose to go down to the weight I was at when I was in high school/early twenties.

You know at the beginning of this diet my mom told me as we were walking through the mall before I was officially on it, she said "After this diet you'll be able to shop in all of these stores, you know."  I didn't believe her but now I live it!  She was right, I am able to shop in all those stores for what I used to call the "stick people stores".  Not to offend anyone but because I was so used to being so overweight and those stores were off limits to me, I would walk into those stores and get weird looks like I didn't belong, perhaps I didn't but I can browse without the dirty looks!  Now I have no more worries, I walk in those stores with confidence, find my size and try things on and I don't get looks, this diet definitely gave me a new look on life, eating, and gave me confidence again.

I am planning on being good this thanksgiving, if you think about it the holiday table mostly has protein and veggies on it anyways so it would be hard to cheat.  Make it easy on yourself and either cook the meal or if going to another person's table, ask if you can bring a dish of your own.  I am bringing Curried Cauliflower, that way there is a veggie alternative that I know is safe and not covered in breadcrumbs or butter. And as far as pies go, well see if you can ignore them, I am sure going to try to ignore them but pecan pie is my weakness, we shall see how I do.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

Thoughts

Am I the only one this happens to?

I am at 155, I have lost 101 total pounds with Weight Watchers from January to March - 25 pounds, and then Ideal Protein 76 pounds from end of May to Now.

Every time I talk to people about it, I get a lot of "Stop, you can't loose more weight!  You'll disappear."  Or they'll say: "Is that what the doctors told you, you had to loose?"

My answer is always, no, what I want to loose is up to me.  I was 125 in high school being at 155 is nice but not where I want to be.  I have 20 pounds left.  At 135 I'm still going to be 10 pounds more than I was and no I'm not going to be a stick or disappear.

Anyone get this said to them as they near the end or are continuing with their weight loss, if so I would love to hear from you.  How do you deal with this when these questions come up for you?

Sign Up & Get a chance to win an iPad 2

The Devi Center where I go for my weigh-ins every week, is running a promotion for the Ideal Protein weight loss program.  As some of you who visit my blog daily you may have seen the $100 off your consultation promotion, this would be in addition to that.

If you decide you want to do the Ideal Protein program and go to the Devi Center in Weymouth, MA and sign yourself up for the weight loss program, just mention my blog and you will get an entry to possibly win an iPad 2.  Then when you see your weight loss miracle over the first week you'll want to tell your friends anyways and refer them, which will then get you entered into the drawing again and your friend entered as well.
Honestly if you ask me, its a win win either way, because you get your $100 off your consultation and you loose weight to boot and so does your possible friend or family member that you refer!  And if you refer someone to the program you get a free box of food, which is a nice incentive I think.

Here is the PDF file that was sent to me if you would like to take a look at it:

My Favorite Ideal Protein foods

Okay thought it might be helpful to share my favorite Ideal Protein foods with those of you on this diet, I know when I first started I was lost as to what was good and what well sucked.  So here are my top favorites:

  • Broccoli and Cheese Soup - make 2 cups of broccoli and put it in a big bowl with your soup, tastes delicious.
  • Chicken Noodle - make 2 cups of frozen mixed peppers or cut up fresh peppers and throw it into soup after heated.
  • Leek Soup - Just tried this recently, love it.  I suggest adding chopped celery to it for your 2 cups of veggies.
  • Mushroom Soup - is okay, very high in sodium so it can overpower the taste for you.
  • Chocolate Drink Mix (powder) - Makes great Hot Cocoa, suggest adding in some cinnamon in the shaker cup before shaking, tastes delicious.  Or if you have a mint plant or mint herbs in your fridge add to get that peppermint hot cocoa flavor that's in season.
  • All pre-made drinks - Mango, Chocolate and Vanilla - super convenient for traveling and yummy!  Very filling too.
  • All mix up drinks - are fantastic, fruity, and enjoyable. (Blueberry Cran-Granata is a drink that is a bit over tarty and hard to swallow but it is essential for loose collagen, every other day if you can)
  • Puddings - new dieters beware, this will be bland to you, in the first weeks if you want to eat them I advise you to use the sweetner for your tea/coffee you are allotted and put it in your pudding.  After you have been on the diet for a month, revisit the puddings without the sweetner, they will taste awesome to you.
  • Raspberry Jell-o - awesome stuff, works great for a non-restrictive snack
  • Maple Oatmeal - soooo good, but you must eat a non-restricted item for your snack due to this yummy oatmeal, or make the oatmeal your snack.
  • All snacks are great!!  Except for BBQ ridges, Lemon Soy Puffs and Sea Salt Ridges - not my favorites but I will have them once in a while.  Also the chocolate chip cookies have too much of a grainy texture to them, one is good per week but wouldn't suggest anymore.
  • Absolute favorite snacks: White Cheddar Ridges, Southwestern Cheese Puffs, Caramel Nut bars, Strawberry Wafers, White Chocolate Crispy Square, Peanut Butter Crunch bars, Cranberry Pomegranate bars, Raspberry Dark Chocolate Bars, PB Soy Puffs, Chocolate Soy Puffs, Dill Pickle Zippers, yummm!!!

That's about it for now.  If you have any questions on any Ideal Protein food item, list them below this post and I'll answer them as soon as I can.

Weigh-In 11/14/12

Well went to my weigh-in today, lost 3 pounds, 1" off both my arms = 2", and 1" in my chest. I am now down to 155 pounds.  So I have lost a total of 99 pounds, total weight loss including my WW loss from before Ideal protein.

I am just 20 pounds away from my goal weight!!  And when I get there I may choose to loose a little bit more but I won't know till I achieve that 135, where I stand on continued weight loss to what I used to be at age 19: 125.

I am unsure as to what Phase 2 holds for me, but we shall see in time.

So my words for the holidays, I know this is a tough time for most of you doing this diet, and as a person who has been on the diet for 6 months it is hard for me too.  But we just have to tell ourselves that we know what happens when we cheat, it sets us back by days on our diet.  Just be sure to plan your cheats before you do them is all I'm saying.  And just think about how healthy you'll feel at Thanksgiving this year because you stuck to the turkey and veggies.  You won't be sitting on the couch groaning because you ate too much or ate something that didn't agree with you while others are too tired to move.  If you think of it that way it brings Thanksgiving Day meals to a whole different light.

Weigh-In 10/31/12 & 11/7/12

These last 2 weeks have been quite busy for me which is why I am late in sharing my weigh-in results.

10/31:

I lost 4 pounds, and weigh 160!  Don't remember the last time I was 160 anything.  And to top it all off a Size 8 in pants, also don't remember wearing a size 8, probably in my early twenties most likely.

I dressed up for Halloween and took my son trick or treating, first time I was able to fit into one of those sexy costumes without having to buy the plus sized one.  I was totally PG about the costume, tried to cover up a bit, that was a cold night!

Here is my costume:

My son went as a meerkat, he was adorable.

11/7/12 Weigh-In:

Today I lost 2 pounds, 1" off my waist, and 1" off each of my thighs, I am now at 158!

I was running around doing errands today and noticed my size 8 jeans were falling off, this past weekend I went and got a size 6 pant for $2 at C.T. Outfitters in Scituate from their $2 bin, American Eagle jeans for $2 is unheard of!!!  Anyways don't quite fit into those just yet so I decided to invest in a belt, got one at T.J. Maxx, hopefully it can save my jeans from hitting the floor!

I am now officially at my 71 pound loss mark on this Ideal Protein diet in a little less than 6 months, add that to my Weight Watchers loss of 25 pounds (WW loss was done in 2.5 months) and we get a total of: 96 pounds lost, which is apparently a whole person at age 9.  Only 23.4 pounds left till my goal weight, so psyched!

Weigh-In 10/24/12

Well not super exciting this passed week on weight loss but I did loose 1 pound and that's better than nothing, and the important thing is I didn't gain anything.  In fact the only reason for the 1 pound loss is due to the Chinese restaurant I ate at 2 weeks ago catching up to me.  Bummer, but still lost a pound.

This week wasn't too good either, tried to be really good but went out to dinner with friends and we went to sushi.  I tried to order something I could have, did pretty good until the Sashimi eel came out drenched in Terriyaki sauce, why must you add sauce to everything!!!  It didn't say it came with sauce so when it showed up I was super disappointed.  But I did eat the Riceless Maki - Salmon, Fish Roe wrapped in a Daikon Radish, mmmm so good.
Later that night we went to a Karaoke Bar, and to work up the nerve to go up I had to have a drink, so there it was I drank the Vodka and Seltzer and finally went up to sing, had a blast!  I did not order another drink though.  This was not a planned cheat but I know I'll be paying for this next week - errgh!  I figured after eating the Terriyaki sauced eel a Vodka wouldn't do too much damage since once you eat one thing that's not on the plan and eat another it just sets you back the same amount of time, so the sauce set me back 3 days, so the vodka would also set me back the same amount of time, it was 3 days no matter what I did.  Now if I had cheated all weekend (which I did not), then we are talking more than 3 days to get back on track and more like 1 week.

So we shall see what happens this week.

As promised a recipe to share: Cinnamon Salted Pork Chops, yummm!

Put broiler on Low or High, or turn on the Grill to medium heat, put the pork chops on foil, sprinkle Real Salt on them and then sprinkle as much or as little cinnamon on them, put in oven for 7 to 10 minutes each side or until cooked through, and you are done.

Compliment with some Cinnamon Asparagus, prepared in pan or in oven at 350 degrees, or low broiler.  A truly guilt free savory sweet meal for anyone who loves cinnamony goodness.

Weigh-ins 10/10 and 10/17/12

Sorry for the delay, life has been getting in the way of posting weekly.  I'll go over my last 2 weigh-ins on this post.

For 10/10/12 weigh-in: I remained the same weight at 170 because my cheat weekends finally caught up to me, I was super good that week too, and it was such a bummer to step on the scale only to have it read you didn't move.  But I have to remember that any time I don't gain weight, that is a Win situation, even though the numbers didn't go down.

For 10/17/12 weigh in, this week I got way better news, I lost a whopping 5.5 pounds this week!!!!   And 1" off my hips. I also can fit into my Paige jeans, which I have never been able to wear! Paige jeans if you are a fashion person are really popular skinny jeans, they look pretty bulky on me in the legs but the jeans fit around my waist, which is crazy!! I never thought I would fit in these, but I do and now I'm going to bypass them and go into a size 8.  The Paige jeans are a size 10, I can't believe I'm a size 10.  I really don't remember the last time I was 164 pounds, I think maybe my early twenties....

This passed weekend I ended up eating something I know was not on the diet plan, we went out for my father-in-law's birthday to Dim Sum and it is usually good when you aren't on a diet.  I ended up picking at most things, eating the things I could and leaving the scraps behind that I couldn't.  I was able to eat mushrooms though.  I also tried to be good and got scallops and chines broccoli and what happened...they poured sauce all over it even though the description didn't say there was a sauce.  The sauce was good but not on the plan.  I'm pretty sure I will be paying for this next week.  It really is so hard to eat out with a big group, your hungry, you don't want to be rude, so you try to pick a healthy dish and then you can't eat it, ugh...so you weigh your options, should I? maybe not? And if you follow the plan the rest of the time you should be ok.

In the next upcoming posts I will be posting some ideas on how to spruce up the flavor in your foods.

Have a great week!

Hallelujah for $6.99 jeans!!

When you are transitioning from size to size, nothing can be more frustrating than finding a new pair of jeans or pants to wear every 2 to 3 weeks, right?  Not to mention all the other clothes that don't fit.  But you don't want to spend $30 or more on good looking pair of jeans that will only last a few weeks, so here are a few of my favorite shops to shop for under $20 jeans:

C.T. Outfitters in Scituate, MA
365 Gannett Rd
They have a wide selection of American Eagle, Gap and Eddie Bauer jeans for under $18, if you go on sale days they drop as much as $10 per pair of jeans.
They also have a lot of sweaters, tops, dresses, shorts and other pants there for Under $20, I've gotten $5 to $10 tops there, the last time I was there I got a dress for $1!!!  There was a $1 bin with a lot of other items in it too.
All your favorite brands - Urban Outfitters, Gap, American Eagle, Old Navy, and many others for less than the stores charge you.

Quarterdeck in Scituate, MA
206 Front Street

They have a lot of different things in here, and a little bit of clothes.  The clothes they do have are reasonably priced under $20, they have dresses, some pants, skirts, tops and sweatshirts.  Every item is different and they get new stuff in every week, so if you don't find something that week try again in 2 weeks or so.

I myself have placed a review on the link above but there are other reviews you can find if you simply put in: Quarterdeck Scituate, MA via a search engine.

Charlotte Russe
Pretty much in any mall

You might have to wait till you are down in a size 16, but when you are there and are still transitioning from one size to the next go to Charlotte Russe for great sales.  They have tops for $5, $10, and $15, underwear for .99 cents to $3.99, bras for $10 to $15 (great for transitioning, don't have to spend a lot on a bra that will only be worn for 2 weeks or so).  Jeans for $20, other pants for $10 to $15, good stuff.
I went in there 2 weekends ago for a $6.99 sale, couldn't believe it, found some good stuff.

Last but certainly not least - Thrift Store - Salvation Army in Hanover, MA
936 Washington Street

I go passed this store all the time and decided to check it out last night on the way home from Boston, I was pleasantly surprised at the selection of clothes, quite a lot there.  I found pants and tops for under $8, then I found the jeans, I got 2 pairs 1 for $5.99 and 1 for $6.99, what a deal!  This is the go to place for transition clothes when your wallet is tight.  Those jeans should last me a month before I need to switch to another size at which point I will be stopping back in.
If you happen to read this before Columbus Day, October 8th - stop in, they are having a 50% off everything in the store sale, you'll want to attend!

Some other stores to consider -
Old Navy, Target, K-Mart, Kohl's (only sale days), and of course yard sales!!

Hope you found this to be informative, and if you have a favorite place be sure to share it.  I would love to hear about it.

My Birthday Weekend/Weigh-In

Birthday Weekend

So this weekend I went a bit nuts on the cheating, but its my birthday and I have been so good.  The last weekend at my friend's wedding was the first time I had cheated in 2 months, that is a long time to wait to cheat on your diet.  But I don't cheat often because I like to plan it in advance and leave it for special occasions.

This weekend we went to Plymouth to the Wine Cellar, really good place by the way I recommend them when you are planning a cheat or when you are off the diet, because there is nothing there you can eat when you are on the diet except for their salads with no dressing.  the Wine Cellar below 42 degrees North
They are great spot to go to for some fun or a romantic date, and you get to listen to live music, it is not overpowering music, just a couple of guitarists and some singing.  Great place to relax!  So it being a wine, tapas, and dessert restaurant you can imagine what I consumed when I was there.

Saturday we went to Newport, RI and did the Servant Life Tour at the Elms, a really cool tour by the way, got to see the basement of the mansion, got to see how many stairs the servants climbed up and down to distribute items to guests etc, got to see their quarters, and the roof (which is not the roof you see below by the way, the servant's quarters are hidden well).  That evening we went to Thai food, love Thai but hardly anything I can eat there so I tried to be good even though I ate 2 items not my diet.

Sunday I was good for most of the day, but then ended my actual birthday day with 2 slices of cheese pizza and a red velvet cupcake, yumm.  Normally I would get a cake but since I'm on a diet I didn't want to get carried away so I just wanted a cupcake to satisfy me, however we could only get 6 cupcakes rather than just one at the grocery store, so we took them home.
We went to the mall Sunday to spend birthday money on clothes, I was only going through the mall for 2 stores but I walked passed Charlotte Russe a store I had had my eyes on for years but could never fit into their clothes.  I spent at least 45 minutes in there, I found a lot of stuff I liked and went home with 2 camis, a lace shirt, and some new underwear which I desperately needed because I am too small for anything in my closet and drawers.

I was supposed to get back on track on Monday but there the cupcakes were in the fridge staring me in the face, the only thing I really hate about cheating is the cravings afterwards, when you are trying to be good!  So what did I do, I put my son down for his nap and ate a cupcake, and then hated myself afterwards.

Weigh-In:

So today (Wednesday), I walked into my weigh-in dreading it, knowing I probably gained or stayed the same, but most likely gained.  But to my surprise I lost 2 pounds and an inch in my hips, which my Dr told me that it was because I was following the plan for some parts of the weekend but then would substitute my ideal protein meals for regular food some other times of the day.
So I am now at 170, and 1 pound away from losing a total of 60 pounds on this diet!  I'm also 1 pound away from being in the 160's which I really can't remember the last time I was that weight.

Tip:

Don't make it a regular thing to cheat, just follow the diet.  Doing the diet half way and then cheating is not the way to do it on a regular basis.  It is important to plan your cheat if you are going to, we're human and we are going to cheat on our diets but not as often because we want the change in our lives.
I will tell you once you cheat it is so hard to get rid of those cravings for sugar, so if you are going to plan a cheat just remember you can get right back on that train of losing once again, you don't have to say "it's over, what's the point", because on this diet, you can redeem yourself in 3 days and your right back on track, you just have to fight off those cravings to get back on board.

Until next week...

Weigh-In 9/27/12

Weigh-in this week 2.8 pounds lost and no change in measurements.

But not bad for the slight cheating I did over the weekend at my friend's wedding.  Open bar was there, how could I resist, so I ordered a vodka with seltzer water (not tonic, too many calories), had 2 bites of cake, and unfortunately had to eat the Chicken Marsala, because I was starving and despite what might be in the sauce I ate it anyways, but I was good the rest of the weekend so that's probably why I lost 2.8 pounds.  Those cheats cost me .2 pounds, but that's okay, I just got back on the wagon this week and I'm feeling good.

This weekend however could be a loss or I could stay the same, its my birthday and I do plan on cheating, but I also plan on following the diet as best I can as well.

As promised here are the pictures of me in the dress I wore to my friend's wedding:

See how happy I am!  Excuse my dirty house by the way.  I tell you searching for dresses was a blast last week, Marshall's is the go to place for good deals on dresses.

Weigh-In 9/19/12

Today I scrimped to get my food, what are you going to do, you need the food to continue on the diet so you do what you can.  I returned 7 items to exchange for 7 lunches, I already had plenty of snacks at home, and I had 2 extra packets for breakfast so ordered just 5 packets, for a total of....$20!  That's right my food for this week only cost me $20, so take that Rachel Ray's $30 a day!!  I whooped her butt!!

Anyways....went in for the weigh-in and lost 3 pounds this week, so much better than the 2 pounds I had been getting every week.  I cut some processed meats out of my diet but not all this past week.  So this week I will be cutting out all processed meats and just sticking to whole meats, chicken, and pork.  I'm going to try and make my own meatballs by getting some ground beef and adding garlic pieces and some of my fresh herbs to the batch as well as green peppers, this should make my dinners more interesting.

So I lost 3 pounds and 1" off my chest, I am now at 174 and dropping to the 160's soon, I hope.  My goal weight is 135 but I may just be happy with 140, we shall see.  Once I reach my goal weight my mom is going to buy me a new wardrobe, which is awesome, can't wait, tired of wearing baggy pants till funds come in to buy new skinny jeans, and I am reluctant to buy any new long sleeve shirts or anything for that matter in fear that they won't fit me in 4 weeks time.  It's a vicious cycle!

Till next week's results...

Weigh-in 9/12/12

My weigh-in today was another small weight loss of just 2 pounds so I am seriously looking at my journal to see what I am eating that's different from what I ate before.  And came up with a few items that might be the problem.  But after talking to my nutrition coach, he said that he didn't really no the answer to some of them because he couldn't see their nutrition labels, so I have to gather the labels and send them over to him via email or bring in next week.

So even though its not a lot of pounds its a loss nonetheless and an accomplishment at that.  2 pounds lost bringing me to 177 and no change in measurements.

But I did get a new haircut from my mom for reaching my 50 pounds loss on this diet, so here is my updated hairdo:

It's a new change for me.  My hair has been long for some years so going short was nice.  And I got bangs for the first time in 20 years.  A good change for changed lady.

And in other news I am attending a friends wedding next weekend, and went dress shopping for the first time in person since my own wedding in 2004/2005, which was the last time I fit in a dress.  I wouldn't have had to go dress shopping at all but I ordered a dress I liked online 3 months in advance guessing my current size for the end of September but was a size off.  The alterations for the dress were more than the dress costs.  I went Wednesday morning and night and found nothing on my own but when I went with my grandmother on Thursday night I found 18 possibilities at Marshall's, (which I highly recommend this store by the way).  All the brand labels for less than half the cost of a department store.  I really had a wonderful dress shopping experience.  I liked at least half the pile but could only choose one and I found that one, second one tried on but wanted to try on others.  My grandmother was a huge help giving me her opinion, it is easier to dress shop when there is another person helping you, with zippers and bringing in more than the 10 items allotted.  So I picked a beautiful purple dress for the occasion and my grandmother wanted to get me a dress for my birthday which is coming up, so even though I will only get to enjoy this dress for a little bit I got a classic black dress with lace, very pretty and flattering.  I wanted to get more but I thought I can always come back when I am at my goal weight to get more clothes that will fit me.

So overall the best shopping experience I have had in a long time, it has always been so frustrating to shop for dresses but it seems that feeling is long ago in the past.  I definitely feel I have more choices when it comes to clothes, it is such a good feeling.

Weigh-in 9/6/12

Weigh-In Results:

Today I reached 50 pounds lost!!!  And with my previous diet I lost 25 pounds for a total weight loss of 75 pounds!  I dropped just 2 pounds this week because I ate in Boston on Sunday and of course everyone else at the table was eating too.  I ordered the most healthy item on the menu as my main entree but you really never know what they put in food so, I only lost 2 pounds because of it, but next week's loss should be a big one.

So current weight now: 179 pounds.  And a size in pants dropped from a size 14 to a size 12.  Still 44 pounds to go to a goal of 135 pounds, but it is close.

I am also getting my cut and color done next week on the 14th, which was my next reward for meeting my 50 pound milestone on this diet.  Next milestone another 25 pounds or 44 pounds, whichever I'd like and then its a new wardrobe!!  Can't wait.

Ideal Protein also came out with a new snack - Strawberry wafers, soooo goood, better than the original strawberry wafer you get in the store, so yummy!

Until next week, oh and by the way, here are my 50 pounds lost picture:

Weigh-In 8/30/12

Ok, thought some people who follow my diet blog and read my posts on weight loss might want some additional information and inspiration.  If you are interested in this program, I suggest you watch any one or all of the News broadcasts on this page: http://www.idealprotein.com/  just scroll down to "In the Media" and watch.
You will be surprised to know that no exercise is required to lose the weight, in fact 2 weeks ago they told me only brisk walks and swimming is allowed in the first phase.  Exercise comes in the 2nd phase of the diet which is after you have reached your goal weight.  I do recommend this diet highly!  Losing 50 pounds on this diet alone in just 3 months is proof enough.   Also I have ideal protein coupons, anyone who is interested and in or near the Weymouth area can get $100 off your consultation fee.  You can do this, I'm living proof!
Also I did find the news broadcast on ABC to be interesting. They interview a nutritionist who says you need to exercise to keep off the weight and believes the woman who was on the diet did in fact exercise. Coming from experience, being mad that I can't exercise, I can say you don't need to on this diet plan, I know it sounds nuts, but your weight loss is very low when you do (on this diet). I am super psyched that I will be able to exercise after I get to my goal though. Really if you had told me no exercise and they did say this at the beginning, I jumped up and down, now all I want to do is exercise so I really can't wait when I can.

Weigh-in results:
I lost 3 pounds this week, along with 1" in my chest, 1" in my Hip and 1" on each of my thighs = 2".  My coach said the thighs are really hard to lose weight in, so bravo to me.

I'm also rapidly dropping pant sizes, just the last 2 weeks I was in a size 14 and now I'm in a size 12, and just 4 weeks ago I was in a size 16.  My current weight now is: 181.2, would have gone down a lot more if I had noticed that mustard issue earlier on, oh well.  I am 2 pounds away from getting my free cut and color that my mom said she would get me if I reached the 50 pound mark on this diet, and in 2 pounds I will.  Just 46 pounds more to my goal weight of 135.

Note: I cannot express the confidence I have now, walking into a mall and not being weird about going into an Ann Taylor or an Old Navy store anymore, I am now at an average weight and look like I belong, it really is a great feeling.

Weigh-In 8/23/12

I have not fallen off the face of the earth just late in posting again.

Last week's weigh in was another 2 pounds lost, and no change on inches, and this is after they said no exercise of any kind, which I did not do any exercise.  Except canoe on the weekend but it was a short trip.

So I went back through my weight-loss food journal and decided to analyze my intake of food more carefully.  I checked the ingredients labels on some of the foods I was consuming, the gluten free chicken sausages I was easting had turbinado sugar in it, which I am pretty sure I am not supposed to have so I had to stop eating those.  Then I was concerned with the mustard, was there something in it I missed, yes there was - white wine something I'm not supposed to have.  So Brown spicy mustard is going to be the one kind I can consume, since it has just vinegar in it and very little, but no white wine.  So these may have been the reasons behind my low weight-loss for the past few weeks.

Somehow those labels I just forgot to look at because with the mustard I was consuming another kind that had nothing in it that was going to counteract my diet results, so I just went to the store, gave a quick glance at the nutrition chart without looking at the ingredients and yanked it from the shelf.   But now I will know to look at everything even when I'm are getting a different brand cause you really just don't know what could be in it.

Tip:  You need to look at the labels, the nutrition facts, the ingredients, everything before placing it in the cart and then using it at home.  If there is one thing off about it, it can mess with your diet results.  So read, read, read.

Next weigh-in is today, I will be sure to post this evening.

8/17/12 - Weigh-in

Well sorry for the delay on last week's weigh in I went to the weigh-in, and then went somewhere else, then that weekend I was off the grid in Maine.  So I apologize for the lateness in my post.

Weigh-in last week was another disappointing one when I found out I can't swim laps or do pool weights, because I did those exercises all week, practically.  I did it once with laps and weights on Monday evening and then swam laps briefly in the ocean a few days afterwards in a row.  While I was at my weigh in I asked about jogging too, I was told to briskly walk, no running or jogging, no laps, swim briskly, and no pool weights.  In fact I am not to do any exercise at all until I reach my goal weight, which is so hard!

If you had told me no exercise months ago I would have been so excited and danced around the room, you tell me now and I'm so sad, I have all this energy and need to dispense of it, but can't.

So if you think about it, this is a real dream diet for anyone who doesn't like to exercise, but I guarantee you, you will have to exercise to keep your weight in check once you move to the next phases of the diet when you reach your goal weight.
They are still running the Open House right now for the Weymouth, MA location, just need a friend to sign you up, or come in on your own (not sure you'll get $100 discount but you'll be working on getting yourself healthy).

Weigh-In results:
2 pounds lost, down to 186, no change in inches.

Results should be dramatic this week because of lack of exercise. (which on any other diet would be crazy)

Thursday's weigh-in 8/9/12

Well tried Zumba the week of the 9th and loved it!  There's a great place I know of got awesome reviews if you are from the Weymouth, MA area or surrounding towns this would be a good place to go.  They don't only do Zumba, they also do toning and kickboxing exercises.  Zass Fitness go to the site if your interested.
Anyways, I go to my weigh-in and find that my weight loss that week wasn't so much and they tell me why, it is due to Zumba believe it or not.  Zumba retains weight because it is so intense and fast moving, until I reach my goal weight I can't go to Zumba, Zumba basically turns fat into muscle and hangs on to it.  This diet is getting rid of the fat so I can loose the weight, so they are butting heads.  So I can enjoy Zumba again but not until after my goal weight is reached.  In lieu of that I signed myself up for Zumba classes in January & February for $50, my town has a recreation department for people who are residents and non residents and provide cooking classes, fitness classes, and informational classes to anyone interested.  So I signed myself up, and am looking forward to getting out and not being stuck in the house in the winter time.

In the meantime, it's swimming and walking.  I was even going to experiment and try and get myself in the habit of running, by doing a walk run activity a couple nights a week.

Weigh-in results:
Would have been more if no Zumba happened but I did loose 2.6 pounds, I am now down to 188, I also lost an inch off my chest and an inch off my hip, which means Zumba did its job in the loosing inches department.

Looking forward to this next week's weigh-in!

Weigh-In Thursday, August 2, 2012

This week I changed my bra out, I was wearing a size that was too big again, and luckily my past self saved all the good bras from when I was thinner along with some clothes, which was awesome.  So I just poked around and found 2 bras I could wear while I'm in this phase of my diet.  It's when I start getting thinner is what I'm worried about because its been a long time since I've been 150, wouldn't think there would be a bra in that size laying around, and it would be kind of gross.

Anyways....
Stepped on the scale today and lost a whopping 6 pounds this week!!!!  I was at 196.2 and I am now at 190.4.  Almost out of the 90's and getting into the 180's next week.  I plan to do ZERO cheating again, I am ready to finish the diet plan and move on to maintaining my wonderful results, can't wait to get there.
I also lost an inch each on my waist, hips, and chest.  I'm getting there.

The Weekend: 7/28/12 & 7/29/12

This weekend we went to a B&B in Maine called Pressey House, it is really a nice place to stay, I recommend them highly - http://www.presseyhouse.com/index.html
Anyways they make the best breakfast there and I was so sad when the plates would come out and I couldn't eat anything on them, except for my stay Sunday morning.  Although we are not supposed to have real food in the AM and only an Ideal Protein meal, they did have 2 chicken sausages on the plate which I was thrilled to have.  I counted it towards my protein for the evening to come.  After I was done with the sausages and had to pass my plate of blueberry pancakes and fresh fruit to my husband to finish off for me.  One of the owners there, asked if she could get me anything else seeing as how she knew my plate was passed on to my left, she said she didn't want me to go through the day hungry, although the protein shake I was drinking would have probably sufficed for the morning I knew I wouldn't meet my 8oz protein that day if I was still on the road later (since we were heading home that afternoon).
My husband said, "you wouldn't be able to make anything that would fit with her diet anyways, she can't eat a lot of stuff, she is on this weird diet."  He wasn't making fun of me he was just letting her know that it may be impossible to satisfy my needs.
She then said: "Well how weird are we talking, I have a pretty weird diet."  Then she listed off what she couldn't have: no gluten, no dairy, no grain, no fruit.  She then added that the chicken sausages were gluten free, and lean meat, made with no preservatives, and that made me feel good about what I was eating.
I then said: "That's pretty much the same diet I'm on."
She then said: "Would you like another chicken sausage or 2 perhaps?"
I said: "Yes, I think 1 more chicken sausage would be just perfect."  I felt really good after that conversation.  The whole time I was there at the B&B I felt horrible because I had to pass on their food.  And I felt weird because I wasn't eating anything at the table and everyone else was able to eat it, the whole weekend when it came to food I felt out of place but hearing the comments of how good I was looking, made me realize that it really doesn't matter, people sometimes have weird diets and you just take it one day at a time, you will find something that works for you in terms of food, and it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.
What she said really made me feel like I wasn't alone in this, that other people have limits with food too and I don't have to feel like a weirdo, I can just share my experience and inspire others.
So far people have seen my results and are just thrilled with them, so much so they want in on the diet too.

This weekend I also revealed myself in a way that I would have never shared otherwise.  I was explaining about how this diet completely changed my life not just by losing the weight but also getting myself back, I have completely lost my anxiety issue.  I no longer experience anxiety, it has gone away and my mom was telling me that she thought it had to do with the removed gluten from my diet, which I looked up and saw that it was in fact a proven thing.  Lessening your gluten intake to little to no gluten can in some cases rid yourself of anxiety.  And it has for me, I no longer feel trapped in my house, I can go places with confidence.
Anyways this weekend I was talking to my good friend Paula and because of the small room everyone else was tuning in too.  No one had a clue that I had anxiety, and they wouldn't have unless they lived with me, because frankly that kind of anxiety doesn't happen out in the open unless I went to an unfamiliar social event (even then no one would know except my husband).
My mother-in-law the next day said she never knew that about me, and I said its okay, I kept it under wraps so no one could really see what I was going through, I'm good at that.  If I don't want people to know I don't let them know.  Of course there were a select few that did know because I told them.
My husband was very supportive through most of it, sometimes he was annoyed, I had a car sitting in the driveway but just couldn't push myself out of the house to go do a simple errand.  My husband had to instead after a long day at work go do the errand before he came home, and with a grunt under his breath he did it, although I knew he thought I was being ridiculous.
But that person is gone, I'm very confident and go places often with my son or by myself, and really am feeling the freedom of it.  Not feeling like I'm chained to the house and can't go another step.  Not feeling like I have to have someone come with me every time I need to run an errand, it really does feel good to be confident once again and to feel completely free.  I thank the Ideal Protein diet for that and my perseverance on getting me this far.

Weigh-in & Weekend 7/26/12

Changed my weigh-ins to Thursdays last week so I had 1.5 weeks to loose some serious weight.  And I would have lost 7 lbs, but blew it when I decided to cheat on Sunday the 22nd.  It was my son's 2nd birthday party and I had spent $60 on a cake, which I wanted to have a piece of.  So I did and when I was eating it, it just wasn't that great to me.  It looked good but it just wasn't worth the pounds I had put back on just from eating it.  Then after eating the cake (on this diet once you cheat you go big, cause its the same amount of time to get rid of it anyways), so I drank 1.5 cups of wine but not too much since I can't drink as much as before this diet started.  And then I though I'd get my frustrations out and dig into the chocolate from the chocolate tour that I stored in my freezer to keep till after the diet.  I ate a little and put it back.  And when I was all done eating the things I can't have like - 3 Cheese Doritos, 2 sugar cookies, and 3 Honey BBQ potato chips (I really went to town).  I felt sick, and awful about gaining pounds back.  Was very guilty for cheating, got right back on the horse on Monday morning.

Last night (Thurs night) I had a struggle, I wanted a piece of cake & PB cup, but fought with myself over it, you can't have it, remember how bad you felt, you don't need, it's not worth the progress you have made.  The constant battle trying to convince myself that this idea was no good, and nothing good would come out of it.  What it was, was my body craving for the sugar that I had put into it on Sunday.  My husband told me, you don't like the way you feel after you have had these things so there is no need to have them.  That's what I needed to hear, so instead of having cake and a PB cup, I satisfied my sugar craving by drinking an Ideal Protein Hot Cocoa with Cinnamon and that did it for me.

Tip: Before you put something in your body that you know is going to be bad for you, really think..."Is it worth it?, How will I feel afterwards?" If it is worth it to you then go for it, if it is not and you are feeling the tiniest amount of guilt or anxiety about it, then chances are it isn't a good idea.  Listen to what your body is telling you, it does know what it wants and what it does not want.

Weigh-In:
Went for my weigh-in tonight, lost 2.2 pounds, would have been more but I decided to cheat.  Also lost 1" of my arm = 2" (losing inches in your thigh and arm are the hardest).  I know I lost the inches there because I did a ton of yard work last week prepping for my son's party - raking leaves, carrying large tree limbs to the back of the woods, lots of walking, lots of lifting, and it paid off.
Was at 198.4, went down to 196.2.

Well, let's hope next week is better!

July 17th - Weekend Past & Weigh-In Results

This weekend was great!  Stuck to my diet the whole way through, went to a birthday party on Friday evening, Carvel ice cream cake looked tempting but did not have 1 piece.  I did a lot of activities this past week which I think helped with losing the weight.  Wave dodging at the beach, swimming, walking in the ocean, test driving trucks on Saturday, that was a work out especially with a huge car seat.
I was in the Cape in Eastham on Sunday visiting with friends and they used Real Salt by Redmond on their meal for dinner that they cooked us.  Which was great!  I got a refill of salt while I was there, thank you Andrea!  She said it is the only thing her family and her use since they found out about it, it was so cool!

Tomorrow: Wednesday is my FREE Manicure/Pedicure from my mom, she wanted to reward me for losing 25 pounds on this diet so I get my reward tomorrow AM at the bright early morning time of 9am, I hope I don't fall asleep.  Should be a good morning.

Weigh-In Results:  Drum roll please......I Lost 5 Pounds this past week!!!  Bringing me into the 100's!!!  For the first time since before my son was conceived, which was 3.5 years ago!  Hoping never to return to the 200's again.  Bye Bye 200's hello 198.4!
For inches, I lost 1" off my chest, 1" off my waist, and 1" off both my thighs equaling 2".

So far I have lost 30 pounds on this diet and oodles of inches off my waist, chest, thighs and arms.  I'm sticking with it, and hopefully I will be at 135 in 3 months!

This Past weekend - Weigh In 7/9/12

Last week I followed the diet to a "T", until Sunday when I finally got to go on my long awaited Chocolate Tour in Boston.  I waited 2 years for this tour and despite my diet went on it anyways as it was a scheduled cheat day.
I ate quite a bit of chocolate, a lot of experimental chocolate too.  I even bought bars of it and stashed it away in the freezer.  I will not be getting the chocolate out of the freezer until 3 months from now when I have reached my goal weight, unless I have another cheat day coming up and I don't until my son's birthday party on the 22nd.  So until then I will wait.

Went for an earlier weigh-in, 1 day earlier than normal, the chocolate didn't have enough time to stick to my body yet so I still lost 1 pound which puts me at 203.4 lbs, and 1" off my waist and 1" off each of my thighs = 2" off my thighs in total.  I will hopefully be in the 100's next week!
I also signed my Aunt up for this diet.  They are having an Open House which I posted in the blog a few posts ago.  She got $100 off her consultation and I got a free box of food for next week!  Thanks Trish!!

She is going to do great, I'm sure of it.  It is going to be tough the first week but she will do just great!

Note: If you know of anyone who would want to join this diet plan or if you would like to and live in the South Shore, MA area, let me know and I'll get you $100 off too.

I would also like to recommend the Boston Chocolate Tour for all you Chocolate Lovers out there, awesome tour, you can't miss it, request Alyssa C as your tour guide.  Boston Chocolate Walking Tours

Tip: If you are going to cheat, it is important to schedule it in advance rather than cheating on the fly, this way you know your limits.  I ate chocolate, had sushi, and 1 glass of sake.  But for dinner I didn't eat the hamburger bun, the beets, or the potato fries.  Which saved me a lot of carbs and calories.

Before Pictures, at start of diet

Updated Picture, At: 204.4

Here is me at 204.4 pounds, 50 pounds lighter than I was in January.  And 25 pounds lighter since the start of Ideal Protein.

Weigh-In 7/3/12

Well went in for my weigh-in today feeling nervous about it because I caved in for a slither of Strawberry Shortcake on Sunday afternoon at my sister's baby shower.  But I decided to work off my mistake by doing 20 minutes of laps in the pool and chasing my 2 year old at the beach yesterday.

So I lost 3.5 pounds, weight last week was 208, weight this week = 204.4, next week should be in the 190's.  I also lost 1" on my waist and 1" on my chest.  Melting away.

I have also hit the 25 pound mark on this diet, and with my prior diet I have lost a total of = 50 pounds!  Which is a lot!!

And meeting the 25 pound mark, has gotten me a Free Mani/Pedi that my mom has promised me if I met this mark.
The rest of her deal entailed: For my 50 pound mark I get a cut and color and for my 75 pound mark I get a whole new wardrobe.  Then I'll be done.  Should be about 3 months from now to meet the 75 pound mark.  Just keep trucking through.

6/26/2012 - Weigh-In and other findings

Well went to my weigh-in yesterday, came down to 208, lost 4 pounds in 1 week, 21 pounds in 43 days on this diet.  25 lbs on my previous diet were lost over the course of 2.5 months.  For a total of 46 pounds.  1 inch was lost on both my thighs for a total of 2", and 1" off my waist.
The doctor said that I should be in the 100's in 2 weeks!

Still going strong, and after over a month I am feeling better about the diet, I know what I like to eat and what I don't like to eat.  I cut dressing out of my diet and only use fresh lemon juice and natural sea salt as flavoring, also adding mint helps too.
Also I have noticed and may have mentioned this in the last post, that my anxiety seems to be lessened, its not as strong as it used to be.  I was talking to my mom about it last night when we went out to dinner and she said it is probably because you have cut grains out of your diet, and gluten.  Of course I doubted her, because I had never heard of it before.  So today as I was working on my Nutrition homework (class I'm taking now), I went to look up: "Can certain foods cause anxiety?", and found These results
I have cut enriched flour out of my diet, and sugars out of my diet which both can help increase anxiety, but with them no longer present and gone for over a month, the anxiety is subsiding and my confidence is back in full swing.

I came into this diet being very upset about having to change my food intake and be told what to eat but now being in it for over a month I feel so happy that I did it and am still in it.  The pounds are melting off, my confidence is regained, and I'm feeling fantastic overall.  Just going to stick with it.

Tip: Change can be really good, its scary and unfamiliar at first but it can change your whole aspect on life if you let it.

Weigh-In 6/19/12

Last week I was at 215.4 pounds this week I lost 3 1/2 pounds and 1" off of my leg, arm, and waist, giving me a total of = 5" in total.  And putting my weight at: 212, can't wait to get to 199!!!

Pittsburgh, NH, My Great Accomplishment

Had a wonderful Father's Day weekend with my husband, son and father-in-law.  We went to Pittsburgh, NH, close to the Canadian border.  It was beautiful there, we had gotten a cabin for the weekend and it was very private, we had 3 bedrooms, a large kitchen, dining room, living room, 2 decks one with a table overlooking the river and had a grill and the other was a deck looking out to the pond in front of the house, and 2 bathrooms, it was definitely living.

We relaxed most of the time, except for Saturday late afternoon I dragged my husband out of bed to see the sights, I wanted to go to the town and look in antique shops but we ended up at the 4th Connecticut Lake trail which zig zags along the Canadian and U.S. borders.  So we started the trail and it was not for beginners (I have not done trails in a while), I found it to be very hard, it was about 1/4 mile of climbing steep rocky hills, I was ready to quit in the middle of it but kept pressing on to see this fabulous secluded lake, and crossing into Canada on foot wasn't bad either (no passports necessary) which was pretty cool.  We finally made it after sweating and catching our breaths.
It was just a small pond but it didn't matter, I made it through the trail and was so proud of myself, but then we had to walk back.  My knee was hurting, I had a cramp in my other leg and I was exhausted and getting eatin alive by bugs but we were going down most of the time which was better than up.  Through the pain, tears, and exhaustion, I made it back to the car, yay!!!  A 2 hour walk definitely worked off the butter I had with my lobster (which is not allowed on the diet).

I couldn't believe I survived the experience but being on the diet made me feel more energized to do this and more determined to get places.  I have always enjoyed hiking in the past but since my weight gain I haven't really felt up to it, it was so nice to get back in touch with nature again and to have the energy to do so.

Tip:  Eating better can only help you to enjoy the activities you once loved, so hang in there!!

Dieting Solo Now

Well I am now on this diet solo, my mom has decided to go to her previous Paleo Diet but has offered to still meet me for weigh-ins and pay for half which is wonderful.  That's real support for you!

She only has 16 pounds more to go,  I'm really proud of her, she only has a little bit more left to loose.
I see where she was coming from, she has been going away a lot and is finding not too much she can have at places they eat at.  I know the feeling, I go through that every time we go away, when we are at home it is so much easier.  As a stay at home mom having those ready made foods is super helpful, I'm able to eat healthier than I was before this diet.  I in the past would just grab cookies off the shelf for breakfast or a hot pocket for lunch and now I'm eating better and healthier and feel better too.

So stay tuned for my weigh-in tonight.

6/8 - 6/10 Official Cheat Weekend & Weigh-In

Well we all cheat eventually right?  But it is good to set an official cheat weekend for yourself to get it all out.  Whether you are craving chocolate, ice cream, perhaps a Brownie Fudge Cheesecake, or a bottle of wine giving yourself an official weekend can help you to just get the cravings over with.

For me I had been planning this weekend 2 to 3 months before I started this diet and that weekend was going to be my party weekend where I just get to have fun and eat and drink what I want.

Here is the rule for cheating on the Ideal Protein - You cheat it is 3 days to recover, so if you cheat go big because its 3 days no matter what, if you cheat in a weekend, if you cheat in a week you are looking at a 2 week recovery.  But you can get back on track.

What was surprising though is that I only cheated a few times.  I tried to keep in tune with the meal plan, eating well, I went through Friday, June 8th, obeying the rules until we got to NYC, I had a glass of wine but it took a while for me to want to order it, I hesitated for about 15 minutes before deciding to.  I also got a salad with balsamic dressing on it, which I was not aware of, and I ordered a burger with no cheese and got cheese, so I picked off the cheese, left the bun behind and ate the salad.  I also had a side of roasted cauliflower so good!  Bet there was some seasoning on it I couldn't have but really good anyways.  We then went to a bar till about 3:30 in the morning and I had 2 more glasses of wine.
Saturday I followed my meal plan again until snack time when they put cheese and crackers, and pretzels and all this other stuff in my face, well I ate it because it looked so good, and then had more wine.  Dinner I had a cider, but drank water as well, and ended up getting a grilled buffalo sandwich, skipped the sandwich part and had a side salad with no dressing.  As I was eating the buffalo chicken my stomach started to feel gross, and it finally hit me this is why I don't eat like this anymore because it makes me feel icky when I do.   That night I went out and danced till about 4am and drank but not as much as I had in the past few years, with the diet I'm on drinking just doesn't seem super important so I drank less than I would have normally.

I had quite a lot of fun, on Sunday went back to the diet plan and then went for my weigh in on Tuesday June 12th, Weigh-In Results: Lost 2 pounds despite the cheating, it was probably because of the 4 hours of dancing I did.

Tip: As with any diet you are possibly going to cheat but always remember it is not too late to get back in the game and lose weight again, just climb on up again and start riding, if you fall off, pick yourself up again and keep trying.  It's not too late if you slip and eat a doughnut you can get back on track.

Day Twenty-One

Got to sleep in which was great.  Went down to the breakfast provided with our stay, I can't really have regular food in the morning besides their IP food I'm supposed to have but I had 2 hard-boiled eggs because I can have them usually at dinner, and I was really hungry.

Breakfast - Vanilla shake (IP food) and 2 hard boiled eggs with salt and pepper

Lunch - Spaghetti w/ Meat Sauce (IP food), Cucumbers and Walden Farms dressing

Dinner - Cajun and red pepper flake Swordfish w/ Sea Salt and Arugula Salad w/ Walden Farms dressing and pepper.

Snack - Vanilla Shake

I ended up eating Dinner and Snack together because I felt like I needed to have the snack cause its part of the plan, but I don't have to if I don't need it, which is good to know.  In the future I may not want a snack if I don't need it.

Day Twenty

The morning was easy and lunch was too then I hit the road on my way to NH for the weekend and eating out for dinner was pretty easy.  With seafood restaurants you really can't go wrong on this diet, you can always find something to eat.  Especially steamed seafood, and having not able to use butter, I did try the seafood without the butter and it was really sweet on its own, no butter necessary.  But I did dip it into the butter lightly and then shook the excess off.  I still lost the weight besides eating the butter but overall it was a good meal.

Breakfast - Pina Colada drink (IP food)

Lunch - Potato Puree (tasted better this time, put sea salt and pepper in it, was great), Cucumbers w/ Walden Farms dressing

Dinner - In Seabrook, NH a great place called "Tuna Striker Pub" right on the water, view of the beach and harbor.  Neighborhood gem, had a nice heated outside deck, and it was a crummy cold rainy day too but I was super warm.  We also got to eat our meal in front of the TV at the bar, and we got to pick what we watched, so we watched "Law and Order", my kind of dinner.

So I ate for dinner - Steamed Chix Lobster and Steamers w/ Lemon butter.  For vegetables: Zucchini, Summer Squash and Red Pepper in Garlic olive oil, so yummy.

After dinner we saw the new "Snow White and the Huntsman" very good movie!  Then went to the hotel and swam in the pool after hours, no one seemed to care, and enjoyed the hot tub (wish I owned one).

Anyways for snack - A Vanilla shake

All water and vitamins met.

Day Nineteen

Still trucking along.  So as part of tightening the collagen in your skin you can drink a Granata drink every second day per week to promote healthy skin.  Because you are losing weight so fast your skin doesn't have the time to catch up and tighten so this drink which is really good (if I wasn't on the diet I would just add alcohol for an awesome cocktail).  It's good that you only have to drink this yummy beverage to get skin tightening, take that expensive creams!

Anyways onto the food:

Breakfast - Blueberry Cran Granata drink (to support healthy tightened skin), IP food.

Lunch - Tried the Tomato and Basil soup (a new soup they have), wasn't that great, but I ended up getting it again in the future so I'll try something new to make it taste better more seasoning perhaps.  So I dumped it in the sink and had a vanilla shake instead.  For vegetables I had cucumbers w/ Walden Farms dressing.

Dinner - Burger w/ spices (no bun, not allowed) and Zucchini w/ spices and IP's sea salt.

Snack - White Cheddar crips so good, very cheesy

Day Eighteen

I'm so sorry, I have been going on a ton of trips and have barely had time to do this blog but here I am filling in the gaps.  I know that on Day 18 I was very bored with the food options at home and had a hankering for Indian food.  I got Chicken Jalfrezi which was all I could have on the menu besides seafood jalfrezi, I could not have all the veggies in the dish such as caramelized onions, peas, and carrots but all others I ate.  I didn't eat the rice that came with it because rice is restricted and I did not eat all of the sauce because it was just too much sauce.
It occurred to me how much sauce is on any plate at a restaurant, its overbearing, there is always too much.  Why drench the good food in sauce?  Why not just add a good amount of sauce and leave the food a little naked so we can enjoy the flavors you put into it, why are we hiding it with sauces?

On top of being on this diet I'm taking a new class - Nutrition, so appropriate right?  Learning a lot about what the government believes your daily plate should look like.  Google search "MyPlate.gov" and go check it out.

Food eaten:

Breakfast - Hot Chocolate (IP food), really good, tastes just like actual hot cocoa.

Lunch - Mushroom Soup w/ Sea Salt (IP foods), portobello mushrooms in the soup w/ fresh basil and Arugula salad w/ Walden Farms dressing (love this stuff, pour on as much as you like its good for you).

Dinner - Indian food: Chicken Jalfrezi w/ veggies from a great place in South Weymouth called Fishtail Kitchen, so good.  Sea Salt (IP food)

Snack - My mom introduced me to these awesome cheese puffs called Southwestern Cheese Puffs, which are an Ideal Protein food.  They taste so good, they are cheese puffs with a tasty spicy twist, addictive!

All water met and vitamins taken.

Day Seventeen

Well today I was hungry and it was probably because my water wasn't on time when I ate, if I had drank after my meals I would have not been so hungry throughout the day.
Today I also changed up where I'm putting my snack in the day because I have wanted to go to bed earlier rather than staying up late.  Snack went before dinner because my son woke up early from his nap at 3pm because he went down earlier at 12 noon.  I wasn't ready to eat dinner that early so I ate my snack then instead.  Which is a smart move I think.

Message: Tweak your day and make it into the way you want to for consuming foods, if something isn't working for you, adjust it and hopefully you'll see positive results in the end.

Breakfast - Maple Oatmeal (IP food)

Lunch - Vanilla milkshake (IP food), Red Peppers & Honey Dijon dressing

Snack - Chocolate milkshake (because you can't have snack packages and oatmeal in the same day, so had to have a drink)

Dinner - Spinach w/ Sea Salt & Apple Cider Vinegar, Octopus w/ Cajun seasoning, Lemon pepper and sea salt.

All water and vitamins met.  As well as a good dinner, my husband complimented me on a good dinner, my only words were: "It's good and good for you, completely healthy.  Healthy can also be yummy."  It was good to hear and it was good to know that the dinner was satisfying enough for him that he didn't have to get more food except for 2 fruit bars.

This evening I had some personal issues, I was really angry about something and I felt like just eating whatever I wanted out of spite.  But decided against it because I would feel better at a weight of 150 rather than my current weight of 221.4, I want my self-confidence back when it comes to my appearance, and an animal cracker or a fruit bar isn't worth all that.

Day Sixteen - Weigh-In before Dinner

So with the probably forbidden Lime dressing from the Thai food in my system, I got on the scale to reveal a loss of 2 1/2 pounds!  Was expecting more but I knew that it was going to be tough because of the doubling up of foods I shouldn't have repeated in the same day.  The excessive oil and vinehar dressing and then the thai food last night so adding those up we get just 2 1/2 pounds off but still very good.
Should be easier this week.  Have a small trip coming up this weekend but no group trips just me and my husband and he's a vegetarian so I won't be jealous of his eating habits.

from 223.9 to 221.5, Third Week begins with 221.5, and 1 inch off my body weight, here's to a hopeful successful week!

Day Sixteen

The day after my trip, I felt that I didn't loose a lot of weight this past week because I doubled up on foods that shouldn't be eaten together, didn't want to loose my shakes for the road.  Probably ingested some items that were not on my plan without knowing about them.  Timing was also off when eating meals, some were too close together while others were too far apart.

Message: Timing is everything, if you have a set way of eating your meals, its important to stick to them.  Traveling in groups and adding activities on road trips makes it hard to focus in that area but it is important to keep track of, and stay on line if you can.  Sometimes it can't be helped, I understand that, but all you can do is try your best.
Also if you are on a diet, prepare and bring foods with you that would work for any situation.  That way you won't have to hunt for what you need.

Breakfast - Chocolate Shake (IP food)

Lunch - Chocolate Shake (IP food), Arugala Salad w/ Red Peppers, pepper, sea salt, & Honey Dijon dressing

Dinner - Roasted Vegetables (@ Bertuccis), Tomatoes, Eggplant, zucchini, green peppers in garlic, soaked them in oil, so that was my oil for the next 2 days, haha!  Burger when I got home, 85% lean meat w/ coriander, pepper and sea salt.

Snack - Southwestern Cheese Puffs (IP food), plenty of them, and so good, even have a bit of kick to them, yumm would get again.

All water and vitamins met for the day.

Day Fourteen & Fifteen

The morning was easy but I ate earlier than normal because we needed to hit the road.  This was a tricky day and may have ended up eating things that may have not been on my diet without even knowing about them.  For instance how things were prepared, what was used in them like regular salt, or extra oils or butter.
Other thing that was tricky was the timing of meals, when you are in a group you can't control when you eat, for instance my lunch and dinner were too close together, but I had to snag my 8oz of poultry while I could, otherwise it would not have been there if I had waited.

I did plan for my trip and packed all IP foods as well as cooked up some roasted veggies to bring, and a couple of bags of veggies if I was in a place where a snack bag would be better.  Taking these steps helped in planning a good trip for me.

Day Fourteen:

Breakfast - Maple Oatmeal (IP food), 3 glasses of Peppermint Iced Tea (homemade)

Lunch - Chocolate Shake, Garden Salad w/ Olive Oil & Vinegar, 2 celery sticks

Dinner - Roasted Turkey (at the party), Roasted Veggies I made for the trip - Cauliflower, Zucchini, portabello mushrooms, red peppers in curry powder & Coriander.  Sea Salt.

Snack - Chocolate Chip Cookie

All water met, all vitamins met.

Day Fifteen:

Breakfast - Crispy Cereal (not great), to get a fuller tummy because I couldn't stomach the cereal I ate 1 egg white w/ pepper.  2 cups of decaf coffee

Lunch - Spaghetti Bolognese & Sea Salt, Cauliflower from home w/ oil & vinegar.

Dinner - Nua Num Tok Salad: Red Onion, Mint, Cilantro, Scallion, & Grilled Beef, the beef was a bit fatty, and the lime dressing most likely had rice powder and maybe something else I should not have had.

Snack - Chocolate Shake

All water met, and vitamins met.

Day Thirteen

Went well, the day before my road trip to Maine went smoothly.  Only issues I ran into was repeating foods that can't be enjoyed together in the same day, which is why I lost just a little weight this week.

Foods -

Breakfast - Chocolate Muffin w/ Cinnamon, French Vanilla Decaf coffee, & 1 packet of sweetner.

Lunch - Broccoli & Cheese soup which was good, and then added Broccoli to it for my 2 cups of veggies.  Used the sea salt too.

Dinner - Was very good, I had Steamed Lobster, and made a Lemon & Olive Oil sauce with sea salt.  For veggies I had Baby Spinach salad w/ Honey Dijon dressing.

Snack - Caramel Nut Chocolate Bar - sooo delicious!

All water was met, I actually ended up exceeding it by 2 glasses.  And vitamins were taken, I added an Iron supplement this week because I needed more Iron in my diet, as if what I was eating didn't have enough iron, so odd.  All I'm eating is iron now, ha!

Day Twelve

Still going strong besides the throbbing headaches in the morning everyday this week, but it goes away after I take some Ibuprofen.  Yesterday was a good day overall, my husband got home early and I prepared everyone a healthy meal but apparently it was just too healthy for him, he had to make more stuff.  My son on the other hand was happy about the meal but wanted some of daddy's when he sat down with it.  I liked my meal just fine.

I made them broccoli & cheese with salt and pepper.  My husband is a vegetarian so this would be okay for him, my son had broccoli & cheese & herb chicken I made the other night for myself but decided he should have some protein too.

Meals for the day:

Breakfast - 100% natural pancake (Crepe Mix, IP food) w/ Nutmeg (way too much was added), and Cinnamon, you can imagine the unbearable taste but I had to truck through it.

Lunch - Chicken Noodle Soup (IP food), really good, added some italian seasoning, sea salt and pepper, tasted like the real thing except less sodium.  Also had Baby Spinach leaf salad and Red Peppers with Honey Dijon dressing from walden farms

Dinner - Coriander flavored burger with sea salt and pepper, with a side of broccoli spears w/ italian seasoning.

Snack - (I know your not supposed to mix the 2 but I'm running out of options) Sea Salt & Vinegar Ridges, which are supposed to mimic chips but they are squares, and more thick than chips, good though.

Water fell short by 1 glass but made up for it this morning, all vitamins taken.  Overall not a bad day.

Day Eleven

Still going well, tried a new food today, it was eh.  That's thing about trying the new IP foods, you either hate them or love them, or are on the fence about them.  I love a lot of them but the mashed potatoes this week were bareable, I ate them, but they needed something.  It's a learning process, I'll always be learning as I go.  So here is what I ate:

Breakfast - Capuccino drink (IP), peppermint herbal iced tea (that I made)

Lunch - Mashed potatoes (IP) with sea salt, peppermint iced tea, Baby spinach salad with red pepper & walden farms dressing.

Dinner - Burger w/ Coriander, Grilled Eggplant & Sea Salt

Snack - Licorice Spice Tea & Chocolate Soy Crisps

Overall a good day, all water met and exceeded by one glass, and all vitamins taken.

Day Ten

Today went well, the cravings have stopped completely and my days seem to go by so quickly, everyday I look forward to snack time where I get to enjoy a chocolatey or caramelly thing at night.

I was out for errands with my husband and son and my husband wanted to get a TCBY yogurt but felt guilty to eat it in front of me, I told him no one was stopping him.  He said oh, ok, went in came out, finished it on the way home.  Didn't phase me at all because my chocolatey thing would be some hours later and guilt free.  It really is okay to eat what you want in front of me, I don't care.

Breakfast - Chocolate Shake (IP food) & Peppermint Tea

Lunch - Chicken a la King (IP food, not sure I'll get it again), Sea Salt & Pepper, Salad with Walden Farms Ranch dressing.

Dinner - Cajun swordfish from the other night w/ fresh squeezed lemon juice, Zucchini w/ Curry, Lemon Pepper and Lemon juice, and sea salt.  (very satisfying)

Snack - Caramel Bar (soooo goooood)

Water exceeded by a glass or 2.  Vitamins taken.  To another day.

Day Nine

Was a successful day, was able to go out after my weigh-in to Bertuccis and enjoy my dinner guilt free, because I could have all that I ordered.  And I thought it would be hard to ask the server to ask the kitchen to prepare the meal a certain way, I just didn't want to come across as picky.  But it was easy to ask, and I didn't feel like I was putting them in spot where I was demanding so much.  I just needed to make a few adjustments.
Shared my news with everyone on Facebook when I got home, many congrats my way, which awesome to hear because I can use all the support I can get.

Meals for the Day:

Breakfast - Blueberry-Cran Granata drink, super yummy (IP food)

Lunch - Mushroom Soup & Sea Salt (IP food), I mixed in some red peppers and had a cup of Decaf French Vanilla coffee.

Dinner - Mussels, Cod & Shrimp Stew in a Caper and Tomato Broth, Side salad with red onion & olive oil, apple cider vinegar dressing.

Snack - Chocolate Chip Cookie (IP food), best pre-packaged cookie I have had for a while, definitely could taste those chocolate chips and the vanilla flavoring in them as well.

Water met, vitamins taken.  Cheers to another great week!

Weigh In Results for Day 9

I just came back from dinner with my mom, we were celebrating our weight loss together.  My mom lost 4 pounds in 1 week!!!, so proud of her.  And I lost 6 pounds in 1 week!!!  Not sure how much my mom lost in inches off her body.  But I lost 5" off my body, 5" that's huge!!!  I would also like to add that this was with no exercise, that's right, the first 3 weeks you are not supposed to exercise but tonight I feel like doing Zumba!

This gave me the results I needed to confirm that I will be continuing with this diet.  If I lose 6 pounds every week, it should only take 3 to 3 1/2 months to reach my goal weight of 150, we shall see.

I'm so proud of myself and I can't wait to see what next weeks weigh in is going to look like.  In the meantime I'll keep you posted on my day to day.

New weight after Week 1: 223.9, next weigh-in Tuesday May 29th.

Day Eight

Well Monday was an easy breezy day, so used to the diet at this point, it is getting easier to follow it and not want other things.  I have not cheated at all on this diet, but it can be difficult the first week.

Meals for the day:
(IP = Ideal Protein)

Breakfast - Yummy Crepe (IP food), with cinnamon and nutmeg

Lunch - Vegetarian Chili (IP food) w/ Fresh Basil from my herb garden, sea salt, and Lettuce w/ Walden Farms Honey Dijon dressing

Dinner - Cajun seasoned swordfish w/Sea Salt, Lettuce, radishes, & red cabbage salad with Walden Farms Honey Dijon dressing

Snack - Enjoyed the movie "Girl with the Dragon Tatoo" while sipping a Pina Colada drink (IP food), yumm.  Was a nice treat for the end of the day.

All water was met & all vitamins taken.

Tuesday is weigh in and measure, we shall see how it goes.
